1. About the service

Postcard.is ("we", "us", "our") is a service that allows customers to order a real, physical postcard to be printed and posted from Iceland to a recipient address provided by the customer.

By using our website and placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. How the service works

When placing an order, you choose a postcard design, enter a personal message, and provide the recipient's name and postal address.

We then prepare, print, and hand over the postcard for posting in Iceland.

Our service is limited to the preparation, printing, and dispatch of the postcard. Final delivery is carried out by third-party postal operators, including the Icelandic postal service and the postal service in the destination country.

3. Delivery

Delivery times shown on the website are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Once a postcard has been handed over for posting, delivery is outside our direct control. We are therefore unable to guarantee delivery dates, delivery speed, tracking events, or final delivery outcomes.

International mail may be delayed by customs, weather, transport disruption, seasonal congestion, strikes, local postal conditions, or other events outside our control.

4. Orders and payment

All orders must be paid in full at checkout using the payment methods offered on the website.

Prices displayed on the website at the time of purchase are the applicable prices for that order.

An order is considered accepted once payment has been successfully processed.

5. Processing times

We aim to prepare and post orders within 1–2 business days after payment is received, excluding weekends, public holidays, and operational interruptions.

Any processing time shown on the website is an estimate only and is not guaranteed.

6. Customer responsibility

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete order information, including the recipient's name, postal address, and message content.

We are not responsible for non-delivery, delay, or misdelivery caused by an incorrect, incomplete, or outdated address submitted by the customer.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Orders may only be cancelled before the postcard has been printed or handed over for posting.

Once a postcard has been printed or dispatched, the order is generally final and non-refundable.

8. Content policy

You may not use the service to send content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, misleading, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable.

We may refuse or cancel any order that violates this section. If an order is cancelled before dispatch for this reason, we may issue a refund at our discretion.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss arising from postal delay, postal loss, failed delivery, or delivery outside the estimated timeframe.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Changes to the service

We may update, suspend, or modify any part of the service, including postcard designs, pricing, delivery estimates, or website content, at any time without prior notice.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time by publishing the revised version on this page.

The version in force at the time of purchase will apply to your order.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
