About this postcard
Iceland has been farmed continuously for over 1,100 years. Many of the farms visible from Iceland's Ring Road have been in operation since the Settlement period, their turf houses long replaced by corrugated iron and concrete, but the location and function unchanged. Sheep and horses have been the mainstay of Icelandic farming throughout.
There's something quietly moving about the scale of these farms relative to the landscape around them: a white farmhouse, a red barn, a few horses in a paddock, and behind them mountains that dwarf everything. This postcard captures that relationship between human presence and Icelandic scale. Sent from Iceland with a genuine Icelandic stamp.
Every Postcard.is design is a real image from Iceland — a place whose landscapes
