About this postcard
The midnight sun is one of Iceland's most disorienting and magical phenomena. Between late May and late July, Reykjavik experiences continuous daylight. In the north of Iceland, above the Arctic Circle, the sun stays above the horizon for several weeks. For visitors from temperate latitudes, looking at a clock that says 11:47 pm while bright daylight pours through the window is genuinely strange.
The midnight sun creates a quality of light that has no equivalent in other latitudes: warm, low, golden, and continuous. Landscapes that would be in shadow for most of the day are bathed in this prolonged golden hour. Photographers come from all over the world to shoot in it. This postcard captures that light — Iceland in its endless summer day — sent with a genuine Icelandic stamp from Iceland.
Every Postcard.is design is a real image from Iceland — a place whose landscapes
range from glaciers and waterfalls to volcanic deserts and midnight-sun coastlines.
We print each card on quality postcard stock, add your personal message, and post it
